Federal Government To Release Names Of Suspected Looters

 A Federal High Court on Tuesday, has ordered the federal government to release the names of suspected looters from the information about the names of high ranking public officials ,from whom public funds were recovered, the circumstances under which funds were recovered and as well as the exact amount of funds recovered from each public official.

Justice Hadiza Shagari delivered the judgement following the freedom of Information suit number: FHC/CS/964/2016 brought by Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP.

In her judgment, Ms. Shagari agreed with SERAP saying that

“the FG has a legally binding obligation to tell Nigerians the names of all suspected looters of the public treasury past and present.”
