Murder of 64 year old Father of 7 by suspected herdsmen sparks up protest in Ondo State



Linus Oghee, a 64 year old father of 7 met his demise after he was hacked to death on Sunday June 25th by bandits suspected to be herdsmen in a community in Akure North LGA of  Ondo State.
Sahara reports that the deceased was attacked and murdered on his farm of over 20 years.
His wife Roseline Oghee narrated the ordeal. she said
“It was almost getting dark and my husband had not returned from the farm, so i decided to trace him down there. But as i stepped into the farm, i met my husband laying lifeless on the floor with cuts, bruises and bullet wounds on his corpse.
I got scared immediately and immediately ran back to the village to raise alarm that they (Fulani herdsmen) have murdered my husband”
The gruesome murder has sparked up protests all over the settlement as the angry residents, including youths and school children came out to express their rage over the murder of the farmer.
The protesters, armed with placards and tree branches have called on the security agencies in the state to save their villages from the incessant invasions by herdsmen and demanded that justice prevails.
They demand that the culprits of the unacceptable act that took place in Oleyo, Igbatoro area are arrested immediately.
